ARC FAQs

Booking & stays

What are check-in and check-out times? Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 10am.

Is there a minimum stay? Our minimum stay is 1 night, so you can book anything from a single night to a full week or longer.

How do I book, and what are the payment terms? To hold your dates we take a one-third deposit, with the balance due 8 weeks before your stay. A refundable security hold of £3,000 is taken the day before you arrive. To enquire, email info@arc.club.

The houses

How many people can stay? It depends on the house. ARC Thorpeness and ARC Next-the-Sea sleep 20, ARC Painswick and ARC Padstow sleep 26 and ARC Peaks sleeps 30.

Where are your houses? ARC houses are located across the UK, including Painswick (Cotswolds), Padstow (Cornwall), the Peak District, Thorpeness (Suffolk coast), and Wells-next-the-Sea (North Norfolk), with more opening in the Lakes, Dales, Rye, Fowey and beyond.

What are the bedrooms like? Every bedroom has a superking bed that can split into twins, with 1000-pocket-spring mattresses, Egyptian cotton linen and LA-EVA toiletries. You'll also find an ARC welcome jumper waiting for you. Bath and Pool/Beach towels are provided for each guest.

Are the houses accessible? Accessibility is an important consideration for us, although we are unfortunately limited in some of our houses by their listed status. ARC Peaks offers step-free access with a lift and a DDA-compliant ensuite bedroom. ARC Next-the-Sea has two step-free ground-floor bedrooms, one with a DDA-compliant bathroom. ARC Padstow has a ground-floor bedroom with ensuite shower. ARC Painswick has a ground-floor bedroom and shower on request with one step on the ground-floor. ARC Thorpeness (a converted water tower) has no step-free access.

Amenities

Is there a pool or hot tub? Many of our houses have a pool and/or hot tub, though this varies by house — from year-round heated outdoor and indoor pools to wood-fired hot tubs. Check the individual house page for details.

What's the kitchen like? Every house has a full ARC-spec kitchen with Miele appliances (multiple ovens, hobs and dishwashers), a large island, full-height fridge/freezers, a bean-to-cup coffee machine, an outdoor pizza oven and braai, and an alfresco kitchen. There's crockery, cutlery and five types of glassware for full occupancy, plus a tea and coffee station with unlimited beans.

Is there WiFi? Yes — our houses have fast fibre broadband (up to 1000Mb/s) reaching every room.

Is there parking and EV charging? Parking varies by house. ARC Painswick: none onsite, free street parking & free village carpark (Stamages Lane) ~50m away. ARC Padstow: 6-10 onsite. ARC Peaks: 10 onsite. ARC Thorpeness: free street parking, 6 spaces immediately outside on private road. ARC Next-the-Sea: 7 onsite.

EV charging is currently available at ARC Padstow and ARC Next-the-Sea. ARC Painswick has EV charging available in the village carpark ~50m away at Stamages Lane.

Retreats & events

Can I run a yoga or wellness retreat? Yes. Our houses are designed for retreats, with lounges and dining spaces that convert easily into practice areas — some purpose-built with published yoga floorplans. Capacity for full-group practice ranges from around 12 to 28 mats depending on the house.

Do you cater to corporate events and meetings? Yes. Most houses have a projector, screen and HDMI, plus a cinema/media room for presentations and breakout lounges. Our full-service 'Hosted by ARC' package starts from £97.50 ex VAT per delegate per day.

Are there noise restrictions? Yes. External quiet hours are 10pm–8am (monitored by Minut sound sensors at agreed boundary thresholds), and no amplified music is permitted past 11pm. ARC-provided speakers can be used 24/7.

Practical

Are dogs allowed? Yes — we're dog-friendly and welcome any number of dogs at £40 per dog.

How do I get there? Travel times vary by house. Most are within 2–4 hours of London by road, with nearby train stations and regional airports. See the individual house page for directions.
